Driven by a lifelong connection to the land and community resilience, my approach to sustainability is rooted in execution. Growing up on an organic farm in Nova Scotia, I learned early on the tangible value of resource stewardship, local food security, and the community ecosystems required to sustain them. That foundational understanding shapes my work today, fueling a career dedicated to helping local governments and regional districts transition complex climate goals into practical, high-impact infrastructure.
When I am not designing municipal waste diversion strategies or regional agricultural frameworks, I am usually immersed in the landscape I work to protect—spending my time in the mountains backcountry skiing, mountain biking, and rock climbing. This deep connection to the natural world directly inspires my professional drive: building communities that are not only structurally sustainable and food-secure, but deeply resilient for generations to come.
Managed the end-to-end implementation of the municipal curbside organics collection program, directing everything from policy drafting and cart procurement RFPs to community communication and behaviour change strategies. The initiative successfully scaled waste diversion framework across 3,600 serviced addresses to transition local community infrastructure toward a resilient circular economy.
Management of the Revelstoke Local Food Initiative (LFI) community garden and food literacy programs, including the project management and development of a new community garden. These programs actively increase the food security of the City of Revelstoke, increase food literacy, and strengthen local food systems, and will continue to thrive for years to come.
